Michael I. Stewart has extensive experience in obtaining patents for his clients, in Canada, the United States and throughout the world, in a wide range of technologies including chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, therapeutics, biology, pharmacology, immunology, diagnostics, medical procedures and devices, chemical and mechanical process systems, pulp and paper chemistry and equipment, radiochemistry, food chemistry, polymer chemistry, aeronautics, environmental technology, as well as packaging structures, automotive inventions and other mechanical arts.

Over one thousand United States patents have been obtained by Mr. Stewart for his Canadian clients in this diverse range of technology, dealing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Stewart has also assisted clients and associates in many countries to obtain Canadian patents. Mr. Stewart has assisted his Canadian clients, both in the private and institutional sectors, to license their technology for successful commercialization in Canada and elsewhere, as well as assisting his Canadian clients in licensing in technology from other entities.

Mr. Stewart has acted as a technical adviser in patent litigation undertaken by Sim, Lowman, Ashton & McKay LLP.

With his British background, Mr. Stewart retains an interest in cricket and soccer as well as having a great interest in American football, baseball and basketball. He is also an avid stamp collector.
